Ran small for husband, had to size up
Jeans are nice just need a bigger size they fit like a 32 I wear a 36. Just received mine today and got disappointed in the fitting in them but nice color and style just need an exchange. Still love the brand

First of all, I'm 5'6, fluctuate between 136lbs - 141lbs, athletic build, and I ordered a size 32 (which is my normal skinny jeans size from brands like Serenede, Black Taylor, Levis, etc for reference)
I gotta say these are my new favorite jeans. These jeans are "heavy" in the sense that you can tell they're not just some thin layer of cloth. I get a feeling they'd last a ton of washes without any breakdown of the material
The fit is perfect with these because they feel skinny from the thighs down but don't LOOK like the "squeezing the h*ll out of you" style of skinnies. I've always preferred skinny/very slim jeans out of all styles and I'll say these are PERFECT.
And yes, you can do the squat test and feel absolutely fine lol. I ordered 2 more pairs after I got my first. Can't wait for the restock
